Temple of King Dinh in Hoa Lu

Hoa Lu was the ancient capital city of Vietnam from 968 to 1009. Here, kings under Dinh and Le dynasties built the citadel surrounded by karst-mountains. After a long period being suffered from the destruction of wars and weather, what remain now are the two sacred temples of our kings and a part of the old palace.

Rowing boats in Tam Coc

For decades, Tam Coc has been marked in many western guidebooks and travel forums as a picturesque landscape in Ninh Binh, North Vietnam. The must-do two hour rowing boat trip takes you through THREE natural caves.

Thai Vi Temple

Thai Vi Temple is just next to Tam Coc, surrounded by beautiful rice fields. This small temple is dedicated for worshipping kings and queens under early Tran Dynasty to honor their great contribution to the country.

Bich Dong Pagoda

Further down 2km from Tam Coc, Bich Dong Pagoda lies behind big trees and mountains. It is known as one of the oldest pagodas in town. Tourists will be impressed by the traditional architecture and the amazing work by the old people to build a pagoda on mountains.

Many tourists have named Mua Cave (Hang Mua) the “Mini Grand Canyon of Ninh Binh”. Achieve the 500 steps to get high and record the stunning views of the Tam Coc River and the downtown of city.

Trip schedule:

8:30AM: Get picked-up by our tour guide and driver at your hotel in Ninh Binh City. If your hotel is outside the city or Tam Coc or Trang An areas, surcharge may be applied.

9:00AM: Visit the two temple of Kings Dinh and Le in Hoa Lu.

10:30: Enjoy the 2 hour boat-ride through water caves in Tam Coc.

12:30PM: Have lunch in a local restaurant.

1:30PM: Visit Thai Vi Temple.

2:30PM: Visit Bich Dong Pagoda

4:00PM: Climb the 500 steps in Mua Cave.

5:30PM: Trip ends at your hotel.
